Cinnamon Cilantro Bread
Total : 2 hours


  • 1.25 ounce package active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup nonfat milk, room temperature
  • ½ cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 4 to 5 cups flour Nonstick spray


  1. Combine yeast and water in large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Add remaining ingredients except flour, mixing on medium until blended.
  3. Mix in flour until soft dough formed.
  4. Turn out on floured surface and knead for 10 minutes, adding additional flour if needed so that dough is not sticky.
  5. Divide dough into two equal parts. Shape each piece into a loaf and place in two pans. Let rise in warm place until doubled.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray loaf pans with nonstick spray.
  7. Bake for 50 to 69 minutes until crusty and sounds hollow when tapped. Cool before removing from pan.
