Hanging baskets are great places for both flower and vegetable gardens. They can go anywhere. Here'a basketful of tomatoes. Not quite the same type basket of tomatoes you see in the grocery store, but more fun because you grew them. Use a miniature type of tomato plant and use only one in a basket. Any more,and they would be too crowded.
