Ways to Relieve Stress

There are many ways to relieve stress. Here are some examples:

  • Exercise! This helps relax your body by movement. Circling, stretching, and shaking different parts of your body can help you loosen up.
  • Do something you enjoy. You need some time for yourself.
  • Learn how to relax through breathing exercises. Sit down and uncross your legs and arms. Take deep breaths and exhale out. Relax your muscles while breathing out. Do this for 5-20 minutes.
  • Change the way you think! Every time you realize you have a bad thought, think of something that makes you happy instead. Problem-solve. Changing the situation can eliminate stress. Change your view of the situation. Keeping calm and telling yourself that you CAN deal with the problem may help you keep your blood glucose under control.
  • Talk to someone you trust.
  • Cook with someone. Talk while you cook.
