Explore the magical world of butterflies!

OREGON, Ill. - Does your child enjoy the outdoors and learning about the natural world? The Junior Master Naturalist program is the perfect way for your 9-12 year old to explore and discover the wonders nature. University of Illinois Extension staff and volunteers in Ogle County will provide science-based educational opportunities that connect kids with nature and help them become engaged environmental stewards. The Junior Master Naturalist program will offer your child the opportunity to observe how a butterfly's world changes with the seasons; experience a butterfly's complete life cycle; learn how to identify, collect, and raise a variety of butterfly species all while growing into a Junior Citizen Scientist. This Special Interest club is 6 weeks long from August 8 - September 12, 2023, meeting every Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Sessions will take place in multiple locations throughout Ogle County, with the first session meeting at the U of I Extension Office in Ogle County (421 W.
