Annual Garden Walk Celebrates "Garden Oasis"

June 6, 2013

CHAMPAIGN-URBANA - The University of Illinois Extension Champaign County Master Gardeners will host their annual Garden Walk in Champaign and Urbana on Saturday, June 22, 2012 from 9:00am-4:00pm. The event will be held regardless of the weather conditions.

The theme of this year's Garden Walk is "Garden Oasis." This year's walk features eight beautiful gardens. Guests will be treated to a variety of gardens ranging from therapeutic to educational, retreats to vistas, new to established, and formal to eclectic.

Visit the Idea Garden, on the corner of Florida and Lincoln Avenue in Urbana, for unique gardening supplies and plant vendors. The Idea Garden will host several informative demonstrations and certified Master Gardeners will be available for reference.

All proceeds help fund Master Gardener projects in Champaign County, the Idea Garden, community garden projects, the purchase of reference books, and Master Gardener scholarships.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on the day of the event at the Idea Garden. Tickets are available at the University of Illinois Extension Office at 801 N. Country Fair Dr. in Champaign and local garden centers.
