LTC Fall Webinar Series: Nutrient Needs of the Aging Adult

Adults over age 50 have changing nutrient needs as they age. Some nutrients are needed in higher amounts, others in lower amounts. This lesson will discuss nutrient needs, the physiology behind differing needs, and the relationship of those needs with malnutrition and food-drug interactions. The lesson will also cover tools to assess risks and recommendations for improving nutritional status.

 Objectives:

  •  Identify the nutrient needs of the aging adult.
  •  Describe the relationship of nutrient needs with malnutrition and food-drug interactions.
  •  List two tools to asses nutrition related risks
