4-H members enrolled in the beef project, who wish to exhibit steers at the County 4-H Show or Illinois State Fair Junior Show, must have them weighed and tattooed. Electronic tags are required for each steer nominated for State Fair. PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO Market Heifer classes at the County 4-H Shows or IL State Fair.

4-H members who plan to have animals weighed need to pre-register at least one week before the date of the weigh-in you plan to attend. This is important so that we have enough supplies on hand at each location. Please register each child separately that will be having animals weighed in their name.

You will have two options this year - One will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, at Greenhaven Animal Clinic, Rte. 136/east side of San Jose; the second option is 9-10 a.m. Saturday, February 8, at the Petersburg Veterinary Clinic. It is preferred that you participate in the weigh-in that takes place in your county of membership when possible.
