During our time of quarantine there is still one thing we can all do and that is garden! Whether you have space to install as many beds as you like or are limited to a patio garden full of beautifully potted plants, this webinar series will help you navigate all the different questions that may arise in starting your new hobby. Join us for a free six-part webinar series, which will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings. Topics include: site selection and preparation, soils, plant selection, plant nutrition, succession planting and companion planting, harvesting and plant storage.

During this session, our Educators will cover the basics of soil science with topics such as soil physical properties, and some basic soil chemistry.  They will also talk about soil fertility, improvement, and best practices for soil health.

University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment. Individuals that require reasonable accommodation to participate in programming should contact their local Extension office. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting access needs.
