Savor a taste of spring during a wild food walk with Master Naturalist Chandler Womack as our woodlands sprout forth all that the Winter promised. Join us at the Sangamon River Corridor Reserve starting at the Bruce Hannon Levee Trail, just West of Monticello. So save some room after lunch on Sunday, April 19th from 1-3 as we take a look at various plants, native and introduced, that one will commonly find on woodland strolls and how they can be safely and sustainably gathered to eat. We will look at how to identify, harvest and cover tips on preparing these plants for consumption while enjoying all the spring wildflowers along the way. Trails may be muddy, and the event may run long, so please plan accordingly. Information and a more formal opportunity to sample these plants will be provided at the end of the walk.

This walk will be from 1-3 pm at the Bruce Hannon Levee Trail in the Sangamon River Corridor Reserve, 802 Allerton Rd, Monticello, IL 61856, USA (map
