Take aim at the 2019 Illinois 4-H State Pistol Shoot. Compete for prizes and a chance to represent Illinois 4-H at the National 4-H Shooting Sports competition in Grand Island, Nebraska. Join other teens who share your enthusiasm for pistol target shooting. 

2020 Event

Date: October 10 & 11 at Central Illinois Precision Shooters, Bloomington, IL

Cost: $20 fee due at registration; $20 range fee due day of event

Schedule:

  • 8 to 9 AM – Registration
  • 9 to 9:15 AM – General Safety Program and Pledges
  • 9:15 to 9:30 AM – Shooting Begins
  • Noon – Lunch
  • Shooting Resumes
  • Shooting ends around 4 to 5 PM
  • Awards program will be at the end of day Sept. 30 unless matches have been completed on Day 1.

The schedule may change if participant numbers require changes.

All events are “single pistol” matches, meaning participants are to shoot the entire course of fire of that event with the same pistol. No pistol changes will be allowed between stages. When not cased and not in use all air guns are required to use a CBI (Clear Barrel Indicator) in place except as permitted by range officer.

Eligibility

Eligibility: The state shoot is open to youth who will be 4-H members during the 20-21 4-H year and are members of a certified 4-H Shooting Sports 4-H Club in their county in the discipline they are competing. Youth must be at least 14 years of age by Jan. 1, 2021. Maximum Age for State Contest: Youth cannot be 19 years of age or older by Sept. 1, 2020. Maximum Age for National Team: Youth cannot be 19 years of age by Jan. 1, 2021. Youth in their last year of 4-H who were 18 on Sept. 1, 2020, but who turn 19 in September, October, November, or December of 2020 may participate in the state contest but cannot be selected for the national contest.
