You may have recently discovered that you have diabetes or someone close to you does. You are not alone. 1 in 11 Americans has diabetes and 1 in 3 has prediabetes. Kristin Bogdonas, nutrition and wellness educator for University of Illinois Extension will introduce you to some tools that can help you manage carbohydrate intake and plan meals effectively. Managing this disease will help prevent damage to your heart, eyes and nerves over time.
Tools to Manage Diabetes in-person class will take place on Wednesday, November 11 from 1 - 2 pm at the Rock Island County Extension office, 321 W 2nd Ave. Milan, IL.
Everyone will receive a diabetes portion plate, carbohydrate counting pocket guide and presentation handouts. Support for this program is made possible, in part by a City of Rock Island Gaming Grant.
Space is limited due to social distancing guidelines, so register today. Face masks will be required for this event.
