4-H Public Presentations and Food Demonstration

Are you participating in public presentations or food demonstrations in 4-H?

This is a great opportunity to work on communication skills in a supportive and fun atmosphere. This exhibit experience is part of this summer’s 4-H shows for Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Counties. Public Presentations exhibits may be promoted to the State Public Speaking Contest. 4-H youth must be currently enrolled in 4-H. 

What do you need to know? Follow the steps below to get signed up by April 14!

Public Presentations

  • Public Presentations include: Formal Speech, Illustrated Speech, Original Works (individual or team), Oral Interpretation. 
  • Enroll in the Communications: Public Presentations project area in 4-H Online
  • Between April 1 and April 14, sign-up for your project in FairEntry.
  • Judging will take place on Saturday, April 17 at the McLean County Extension Office in Bloomington.
  • You will select a time to give your presentation for the judge and we will be limiting the number of people in the building (Click HERE!)

Food Demonstration

  • Enrollment in the Food and Nutrition project area in 4-H Online is required.
  • Between April 1 and April 14, sign-up for your food demonstration project in FairEntry.
  • Judging will take place on Saturday, April 17 at the McLean County Extension Office in Bloomington.
  • You will select a time to give your presentation for the judge and we will be limiting the number of people in the building (Click HERE!)
  • Food demonstrations should be approximately 8-10 minutes in length, however there will not be a time penalty. Demonstrations may be done by an individual or team of two members.
  • Exhibitors are responsible for furnishing all equipment and supplies.
