Bellrose Island Tour Fulton, Mason, Peoria, Tazewell Master Gardeners and Naturalists

Extension Master Gardeners and Naturalists in the Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit are invited to join Havana Park District Director Grace Mott for a walking tour on Bellrose Island in Havana.

When the Illinois River waters are low you can reach Bellrose Island by foot from Bellrose Meadows at 1002 N. Schrader, Havana. You can find out more about Bellrose Island by visiting havanaparkdistrict.org/facilities/bellrose-island-2/

  • Registration is required.
  • Group size is limited.
  • Social distancing will be practiced.
  • Dress for the weather, wear long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting muddy, and insect repellent.
  • Wear your name badge is you have one. 

Plan to arrive by 10:45 a.m. Park in the grassy area and we will walk to the trail entrance. The tour will start at 11 a.m.

Grace will be sharing about the Havana Park District’s new pollinator garden and community garden to be located at Bellrose Meadows.

For anyone interested in joining us for lunch after the tour, we will be meeting at the pavillion near the Nature Center at Riverfront Park. Bring a sack lunch and a lawn chair so we can all socially distance.
