Broadband Series on Access, Adoption, Use

Broadband opens a world of opportunity to communities, broadening direct access to education, health care, and employment. The Benton Institute for Broadband and Society joins Illinois Extension is presenting a three-part online webinar series to enhance your ability to lead and support your community's broadband development efforts.

Creating successful projects, first by using the Illinois Office of Broadband mapping tools to identify your best possible broadband projects, and then working effectively with broadband providers to reach the most residents using the most effective technology. This webinar will help you make the best provider and technology choices and maximize the value of public dollars.

Technology experts will highlight the capabilities and characteristics of various technologies with a focus on fiber optic and fixed wireless networks.

Meet the presenters:

• Bill Coleman, consultant to the Benton Institute, supports community economic development and broadband initiatives through innovative training, planning and implementation programs. He was a lead staff with the Minnesota Star City Program before shifting his focus to technology-based economic development. 
• Kevin Kloehn, vice president of customer relations of Vantage Point Solutions, is a seasoned customer relations and marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and broadband market space. He is responsible for customer relations, account management, business development, vendor relations and marketing for the engineering and consulting services offered by Vantage Point Solutions. Kloehn serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Telecommunications Association.
