In this two-session workshop, high school youth will gain essential skills to enhance their writing and presentation performance for college and employment.

Workshop one will focus on formal writing skills, including instruction on how to craft a letter of interest and personal statement for college applications. At the beginning of the workshop, we will discuss writing in APA style and learning to write effective transitions in manuscripts and formal letters

Workshop two will consist of learning how to make effective presentations using two learning management systems; Powerpoint and Nearpod. We will discuss how to convey take home messages to audiences and how to get audience members involved in the presentation using different kinds of engagement strategies.

Youth may register for one or both workshops.
