Mia Truhlar serves the youth of Grundy, Kankakee, & Will counties as the Summer 4-H Program Coordinator. Along with the rest of the 4-H program team, Mia works to impact the next generation of youth in the 4-H program and empower future leaders to become changemakers in their community.
Mia has her associate degree in Criminal Justice with aspirations of continuing her education to protect the community by entering the field of law enforcement and forensic sciences. Throughout her 4-H career and into college, Mia was heavily involved in the 4-H program serving every office in her local 4-H club, Homes Cool Kids. She was President of 4-H Federation, and served on many state committees and leadership roles – including Speaking for Illinois 4-H where she focused on educating Illinois legislators about the 4-H program and advocate for continued support.
Outside of her work with Extension, Mia enjoys the outdoors and is an accomplished Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athlete, a state division champion, and achieving a blue belt in Jujutsu. She also enjoys working on her car and participating in the many opportunities that her 4-H career has afforded her.
