Illinois Nutrition Education Programs

Christina (Tina) Pienta supports the implementation of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) in Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam Counties. Tina works with eligible families and agencies to provide nutrition, food safety, physical activity, and food budgeting education. SNAP-Ed programming provides educational services, information and skills that empower families to make positive changes for their health. Pienta joined the University of Illinois Extension in 2017 as a Community Worker. She can be found sharing her knowledge in the local food pantries, farmers markets, public schools and community agencies throughout the Illinois Valley.

Outside of the office Tina enjoys gardening, camping with her family and listening to true crime podcasts.
