Jo Ann Britton focuses on providing positive youth development programming in the areas of STEM, character education, healthy living, life skills, career readiness and leadership. Using 4-H hands-on, age-appropriate curriculum, she trains middle- and high-school students to become teen teachers, trains teachers to lead engaging 4-H curriculum, and works directly with local schools and youth organizations to lead 4-H programs.
As a member of the Kendall County Juvenile Justice Council and Kendall County Interagency Council, and an Illinois State Schools of Character trainer and evaluator, Jo Ann promotes the social and emotional well-being of area youth by passing on her belief that youth who develop good character and good decision making skills will avoid risky behavior and become productive citizens. She believes that the positive youth development program that 4-H and the University of Illinois Extension provide helps our young people to be our future leaders.
Britton is a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Secondary Education. She is involved in her faith community, a coach, judge and director of champion baton twirlers, member of the National Baton Twirling Hall of Fame and avid sports lover.
