Kathy Book is the 4-H Youth Program Coordinator for University of Illinois Extension in Lee County. She enjoys spending time with her two boys and husband and helping out on the family farm. Kathy graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture with a concentration in Greenhouse production and management in 2010. Upon completing her degree, Kathy worked at a local flower shop for several years before coming to work with the 4-H program in 2014. She received her Master’s in Science in Agricultural Education from the University of Illinois in 2018.
Kathy focuses on providing the youth ages five to eighteen in Lee County with hands-on educational activities such as Cookin & Bookin with KSB, Junior Gardeners, robotics, and more. Kathy has recruited and started new clubs including a special needs club, Lucky Clovers, and 4-H Goat Club focusing on learning about the care of goats. She also provides the community 4-H Clubs in the county with the support and resources they need to succeed and grow.
