Felder Rushing to Speak at Gardening Insights

Felder Rushing, an author of 17 gardening books, and the creator of a beautiful garden that was showcased in Southern Living and the New York Times will be the keynote speaker at Gardening Insights, an event sponsored by University of Illinois Master Gardeners. Gardening Insights we be on Saturday, April 6 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. The event will be held at the Shilling Center on the campus of Richland Community College, 1 College Park, Decatur, IL 62521.

Felder, a native of Mississippi, will speak on "Slow Gardening – Savoring What You Do with All Your Senses, Through All Seasons." Felder uses an offbeat, "downhome" approach to speaking about gardening using humorous anecdotes, zany observations, and stunning photography to help gardeners get past the "stinkin' rules" of horticulture. Gardening Insights is a day of horticulture for gardeners of all levels. Along with the keynote speaker, 15 additional gardening classes will be offered. Doors will open at 8:00 am for registration, with the keynote speaker beginning at 9:00 am. Pre-registration is requested.
