Illinois Herb Association to Hold Annual HerbFest

BLOOMINGTON, ILL. — The Illinois Herb Association is proud to announce the 2013 HerbFest, to be held June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. at Washington Park Botanical Garden in Springfield, Ill.

The event will feature sessions hosted by a variety of speakers and will include topics such as "Many Uses of Lavender," "Growing and Using Elderberry,"(Elderberry is the 2013 Herb of the Year), and "Herbs of the Bible."

Additionally, Mike King, president of Mari-Mann Herb Co. in Decatur, Ill., will discuss the latest in natural herbal remedies.

"Each year, the Illinois Herb Association's HerbFest seems to grow, and we don't expect this year to be an exception — especially with our excellent line up of speakers and presentations," said Kay Carnes, president, Illinois Herb Association. "We're really looking forward to diving into some new topics and sessions, including Herbs of the Bible and Leading Herbs for Healing.

The event is open to anyone wishing to learn more about growing or using herbs. Registration is $40 for Illinois Herb Association members and $45 for non-members. Pre-registration is due by May 31 and includes lunch; on-site registration will take place from 8:30 to 9:00 the day of the event but does not guarantee lunch.
