Illinois Department of Public (IDPH) Food Service Sanitation Manager's Certification Course

University of Illinois Extension, Kankakee County is offering IDPH 15-hour Food Service Sanitation Managers (FSSM) Certification Course presented by Drusilla Banks, MS, Extension Educator, Nutrition and Wellness. -- The Illinois Department of Public Health 2005 Food Sanitation Code requires establishments serving food to be under the operational supervision of a certified food service sanitation manager during hours of operation. This course provides the minimum 15-hours classroom work in preparation for the State Certification Examination.
Target audience: All Food Handlers including: Cottage Food Operation vendors, Center/Home Child Care Providers, 4-H volunteers who serve/prepare food for events. You must attend each class to qualify for the examination. Seating is limited.
Class Meeting Dates: June 4, 6 and 7, 2013 with review and examination on June 10, 2013. Please bring a bag lunch, pen, and #2 pencil.
Times: June 4, 6 and 7, 2013: Class will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
June 10 – Exam Day: Class is 9:30 to noon.
Class Fee: $90.00 (includes text book and all class materials). We are happy to provide the opportunity to register online for this program at: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/gkw. Online, you may also choose to pay by check which will tentatively register you until your check is received in our office. Additionally, you may call the office at 815/933-8337 to register by credit card or as always, stop by the office to register with cash, check or credit card. This program will be held at the Kankakee County Extension office.
State Certificate Fee: Upon successfully passing the examination, a fee of $35 must be paid to IDPH.
