The State Food Challenge is returning on June 14th, 2025 at Richland Community College in Decatur, Illinois! The State Food Challenge is a timed cooking contest similar to the show "Chopped". This year, the State Food Challenge is sponsored by the Illinois Beef Association. Youth will compete in teams of 3-4 to make a meal using at least 3 mystery ingredients, one of which will be a beef product.

Eligible participants are students who have finished 6th grade up to those who have just graduated from 12th grade this year. You do not have to have competed or won another food challenge to participate. Registration will be limited to the first 12 teams that register, and each team must have an adult "coach".
