pulling a tray of muffins out of an oven

Join us for a fun and interactive virtual workshop, where you will learn about food science through tasty experiments! Learn about the science of tasting, discover how cream turns into butter, experiment with how mixing affects your muffins, and more! Thanks to our partnership with the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation, participants will be entered into a raffle to win one of several $50 Amazon gift cards to keep your food science learning going!

Younger attendees should have an adult with them to help them during the webinar and hands-on experiments. This counts as a state level experience for awards.

Don’t forget to gather your ingredients for the food science experiments if you want to follow along at home:

How we taste experiment:
A piece of candy (peppermint works great but you can also use something like skittles)

Butter in a jar:
A glass jar with lid that seals good, such as a jelly jar or mason jar.
Heavy Whipping Cream, enough to fill the size of jar you are using ½ full
Sprinkle of salt

2 Tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
