Be a part of the IL 4-H Barred Owl Nesting Box Challenge! 

• 4-H Researchers needed for groundbreaking owl study!
• The IL Raptor Center needs the help of 4-Hers across Illinois to build nesting boxes for a state wide study. 
• Traditional owl boxes have a box with a hole and a roof overhead. This design has had limited success. The IL Raptor Center has modified the design to consist of a partial open top, which will deter other species from occupying the box. Participants will disperse both types of nesting boxes across the state in a side-by-side comparison; they will monitor the boxes for signs of activity and record their findings. 
• A project of this scope has never been done before focusing on one owl species. Club participants will be a part of groundbreaking research!
