Join us for a fun filled afternoon of aerospace excellence! Marshall-Putnam 4-H STEM is hosting a rocket launch for all 4-H youth (ages 8-18) in Bureau, LaSalle, and Marshall-Putnam Counties!

All fliers are required to attend a mandatory safety meeting at 1pm, and are expected to follow the NAR Safety Code in the construction and launch of their rockets (https://www.nar.org/safety-information/model-rocket-safety-code/). Youth will be required to provide their own rockets, motors, recovery supplies, and igniters.  Launch pads and launchers will be provided (1/8”, 3/16”, and 1/4” launch rods available.)  Our flight and recovery area allows for up to “G” equivalent motors (160 N-sec total impulse or 80 N-sec Max Thrust, NO SPARKY MOTORS ALLOWED), so this is an excellent opportunity for those youth with rockets too large to launch at their local county fair. Timers and AltiTrak will be available for those youth completing the parts of the Aerospace curriculum that require these tools.

There is no cost to attend.

Please email any questions to ALind83@illinois.edu.
