Are you interested in horses, and learning what the horse project is about?

Would you like to exhibit a horse at the McHenry County Fair?

Whether you are new to horses or an experienced rider/exhibitor, we have a place for you!

The McHenry County 4H Horse committee is planning six weeks of fun and preparation, leading up to participation in the McHenry County Fair, to show off your horsemanship and horse knowledge.

Our Tuesday night warmups will be a play night/practice show format each week. Riders will learn and practice skills needed to show at the fair, and have fun each week, strengthening the bonds with their horses and 4-H friends.

Specific topics will be covered each week, but every warmup night will include group activities and horseback games. Plan to attend every warmup night and enjoy fun in the saddle in the setting sun!

Beginners will focus on learning the basics, and mentorship and advanced practice opportunities will be available for experienced riders. Horseless horse project kids are welcome as well. A McHenry County 4-H horse scholarship opportunity is available.

Invite some friends to join and let's show fair visitors that we love our horses in McHenry County!
New to 4-H members can join the Horse SPIN Club in 4-H ZSuite and participate in all 4-H project areas!
