Restoration and monintoring at Dixie Briggs Fromm Nature Preserve

Carol Weinhammer and Rose Johnson lead a dedicated team of Master Naturalist volunteers at Dixie Briggs Fromm Nature Preserve in Dundee, where they work year-round to protect and restore this rare landscape of fens, sedge meadows, and dry prairies. Crews of volunteers remove invasive brush, monitor for Plants of Concern, collect native seeds, and host community events.

Through their ongoing stewardship and prescribed prairie burns, the team helps to ensure that the preserve’s native flowers, grasses, and wildlife continue to thrive in the beautiful rolling hills of this unique ecosystem.
