Save the Dates: October 5-9

We are happy to announce that the annual Master Naturalist Conference is being held virtually this year! The conference will be from 2–4 PM October 5-9, 2020. It is free to attend and open to anyone involved in an Illinois Master Naturalist Program. The agenda provides ample opportunities to hear from experts in natural resources, conservation, and environmental education, and also opportunities to interact with other Master Naturalists across the state.

On Monday, the 5th, we have a tremendous Keynote address this year - Nature’s Best Hope by Doug Tallamy. This will be followed by a special review and highlight video of the Master Naturalist Program across Illinois. Each of the remaining days will focus on a different Illinois habitat and feature a general presentation at 2:00 PM followed by your choice of four different learning sessions.

We hope to see you there!

Volunteer Resources

To be an active Master Naturalist, you must remain current in annual educational updates, a minimum of 10 hours, and volunteer service hours, a minimum of 30 hours, required by the local program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are waiving the volunteer hours requirement for 2020. We welcome you to participate in the allowable opportunities for at home volunteering and continue to participate in online continuing education opportunities. Thank you for all you do for your communities!
