Each spring, hundreds of school-age children take part in Stewardship Week at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center in Simpson. Master Naturalist volunteers join other environmental professionals to educate elementary students on a variety of topics surrounding natural resources and conservation. Volunteers help at different stations to provide educational activities and hands-on lessons. Since the event began in 1990, more than 75,000 students have participated in this outdoor event, and teachers and students look forward to it each year
