4-H Senior Spotlight: Austin Passwater of the Corn Belt Kids in LaSalle County honored

The University of Illinois Extension Bureau, LaSalle and Marshall-Putnam 4-H honor the seniors of 2020.  This week we highlight Austin Passwater.

Austin Passwater is a 4-H member of the Corn Belt Kids in LaSalle County.

His favorite project is woodworking. His favorite exhibit was a bowl he made. He was also very proud that he received best of show on his bowl.

Austin said the thing he learned from 4-H is that it is so important to help the younger members in the club and to be a good role model.

When asked what is favorite memory in 4-H is he stated, “My favorite memory was driving a van in the demolition derby”.

The advice he would give to younger 4-H’ers is, “Enjoy every moment because it goes by way too fast.”

Austin plans to attend IVCC in the fall.

The 4-H Volunteers Austin would like to thank are: “Kim Kaschke and Janell Lukach are the best 4-H leaders any club could have. We are a small club, we have accomplished an incredible amount in community service, and state ribbon awards under their leadership. They also make sure we have fun in all that we do.”
