Four Seasons Gardening Program Offers Final Program on Free Winter Series Webinars

The winter series of the University of Illinois Extension’s Four Seasons Gardening Program, which focuses on environmental stewardship, home gardening, and backyard food production, got underway the month of January. The final session of the series titled “Adaptive Gardening” will run on Tuesday, March 9th at 1:30 p.m.

The therapeutic benefits of gardening have been documented since ancient times, but there has been a recent upswing in the interest for therapeutic gardening and horticulture. But how can people of different abilities adapt their garden space to suit their needs? Join Extension Horticulture Educator Chris Enroth as he discusses best practices for adapting your garden to accommodate age, mobility, or other means. Chris will also share how you can be successful in helping yourself, as well as others, to enjoy the art of gardening at home or in institutions like schools, assisted living facilities, and others.

This webinar is available for viewing from wherever you have internet access by pre-registering  Recorded videos of these sessions can be viewed following the program. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all local county offices are currently unable to offer viewing options at those locations.

Each session is free to the public. Advance registration is needed. You may call the LaSalle County office for more details at 815-433-0707, or you may email Extension Program Coordinator Meg Overocker
