The Summer Sizzle Shoot took place on June 1 at the Chillicothe Sportsman's Club, attracting 4-H members from across the state for a day of competitive shooting sports. Hosted by the Marshall-Putnam 4-H Shooting Sports, this annual event has become a staple in the community, thanks to the unwavering support of numerous volunteers.
For the past decade, the Chillicothe Sportsman's Club has provided their venue, making it possible for youth to participate in a safe and encouraging environment. The event featured four disciplines: Air Rifle, .22 Rifle, Archery, and Shotgun, with 65 young competitors representing 8 counties.
The ranges were expertly managed by instructors from both the Marshall-Putnam and LaSalle County 4-H Shooting Sports programs. Their dedication ensured that the event ran smoothly and safely for all participants.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the volunteers from the Chillicothe Sportsman's Club and beyond, whose efforts make this event possible year after year.
