University of Illinois Extension Welcomes New Ag in the Classroom Staff!

University of Illinois Extension would like to welcome a new Ag in the Classroom Community Worker in Marshall-Putnam Counties. Please help us welcome Sarah Poignant to this position! Sarah graduated this past December from Illinois State University in Agriculture Communications and Leadership. She is a local alumnus, having graduated from Midland High School in 2018 where she was an active member in FFA. She has many grade school memories of the Ag in the Classroom program and is thrilled to now be the person to share the program’s activities with local youth.

Sarah has remained close to home, living in Lacon, near her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, going on tractor drives, and taking family vacations.

Sarah’s office is located at the Marshall-Putnam University of Illinois Extension office in Henry. She is available to make accommodations with her programming including in-person, virtual, multi-session, and prerecorded lessons; just inquire! She is looking forward to hearing from schools and communities to provide programs for schools, libraries, and community organizations. Sarah’s contact email is poignant@illinois.edu and her office number is 309-364-2356. Please let her know if you have any questions; she looks forward to meeting with, and working with, all communities in Marshall and Putnam Counties!
