Kayla Powers serves as the 4-H Program Coordinator for Bond County. Originally from Alhambra, Illinois, Kayla recently returned to the area after completing her education and gaining valuable experience in Extension programming. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from Eureka College (2020) and a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from Eastern Illinois University.
Kayla previously worked with Illinois Extension as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Coordinator for Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Counties, based in Bloomington, IL. In that role, she collaborated closely with Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners, facilitated Annie’s Project to support women in agriculture, and led a variety of community-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening local partnerships.
Her journey with Extension began as a youth member of the 4-H Alhambra Morning Glories. Coming from a farming family, Kayla has always had a deep-rooted passion for agriculture and is enthusiastic about sharing that passion with others. She and her husband recently moved back to the area to be closer to family, and she is excited to support Bond County’s youth and community through her work with 4-H.
