Chicken Broth

Ingredients
  • 1 raw chicken carcass
  • 1 peeled carrot
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 half a small onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 cups of cold water
Directions
  1. To a 6-quart slow cooker, add1 raw chicken carcass,1 peeled carrot,1 celery stalk, 1 half a small onion, and 1 bay leaf.
  2. Add 6 cups of cold water.
  3. Cover and cook for 6-12 hours.
  4. Strain solids out of liquid. Move liquid to a food-safe container.
  5. Cover and refrigerate.
  6. Skim off solid pieces of fat on top of broth.
  7. Store broth in refrigerator up to 4 days ,or freeze for longer storage.
