Texas Hash with Brown Rice

Ingredients
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 1 can(14.5ounces) diced tomatoes with onions and peppers
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 1 cup uncooked regular rice
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of pepper
Directions
  1. In a large skillet, brown 1 pound of lean ground beef, stirring to crumble.
  2. Drain excess fat.
  3. Wash hands with soap and water.
  4. Add 1 can(14.5ounces) diced tomatoes with onions and peppers(or chop fresh onion and pepper).
  5. Add 2.5 cups water and 1 cup uncooked regular rice.
  6. Add 1 Tablespoon chili powder and1/2 Tablespoon of pepper.
  7. Stir.
  8. Cover and cook over low heat until rice is tender, about 40-50 minutes.
