Notes on the Event Schedule Change

The impact of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continues to create uncertainty and concern both globally and here in our community. In accordance with University of Illinois policy, Illinois Extension has deployed public health strategies designed to protect everyone’s health and safety. Effective Friday, March 13, all university-sponsored events with more than 50 anticipated attendees are suspended indefinitely.

4-H members exhibiting animals entering the food production system will be required to complete the Youth for the Quality Care of Animal certification (YQCA). It will replace former trainings: PQA and QAEC. This program is the industry-standard certification. The training must be completed each year.   Training dates will be 2 PM., January 26 (Jacksonville) and March 29 (Winchester).  All beef, sheep, swine, goats exhibitors must attend one of these trainings or participate online.
