Discover the Hidden Treasures in Your Forest Understory!
Join Nick Seaton to learn how to identify some common and uncommon forest understory plants. Nick will take a group, limited to 25, on a 3-hour hike through a forested property and discuss the interesting flora in the understory and some of the keys to identification. This program is organized by both the Beginning Forest Landowner Program and Southern Illinois Native Plant Society.
Nick is an Ecologist with the U.S. Forest Service (Shawnee NF) and President of the Southern Chapter of the Illinois Native Plant Society. He has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a Master of Science in Plant Biology from Southern Illinois University.
