Master the stitching skills everyone should know! Whether you're repairing your favorite jeans, replacing a missing button, or hemming a pair of pants, basic sewing is a life skill that lasts a lifetime.
In this hands-on 4-H workshop, youth will:
- Learn several basic hand stitches and when to use each one.
- Sew on a button securely.
- Repair a small tear or seam.
- Practice simple hemming techniques.
- Learn how to thread a needle, tie knots, and choose the right tools for the job.
- Build confidence using practical sewing skills they can use at home and beyond.
What to Bring:
- Hand Sewing needles
- One spool of thread (any color)
- Several buttons for practice
- A button-up shirt (one you don't mind practicing on)
Open to youth ages 8-18 (as of 9/1/26)
