Programs We Offer

For staff and faculty

Extension Collaboration Grants fund collaborative work among University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign investigators and Extension staff. The grants will support discovery and translation of UIUC-based research into applied information and education that will be disseminated through Extension’s statewide network with the goal of applied use by the target audience. Awards provide up to $60,000 per project over two years.

For partners

The Illini Science Policy Fellowship is a unique opportunity for government offices that work in University of Illinois Extension’s critical issue areas – food, economy, environment, community, and health. The program will match highly motivated and qualified recent graduates (degree received between 9/2019 and 8/2020) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with Illinois public agencies or the legislature for a 12-month paid fellowship. Hosts provide an educational opportunity to fellows who will, in turn, provide substantial professional contributions to the office, drawing from the latest scientific and disciplinary advances at U of I’s flagship campus. Host applications are due January 30, 2020.

For students

Graduate students who are interested in exploring public service careers, and who are completing their degree at UIUC, are encouraged to apply to the Illini Science Policy Fellowship. Applications are available and are due March 16th, 2020.

Undergraduates within the College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences may qualify for paid internships via the University of Illinois Extension Internship Program. This 10-week summer program is open to juniors and seniors and may be located throughout Illinois.
