Master Naturalists support the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge by aiding conservation efforts prioritized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Volunteers contribute to projects like native pollinator garden stewardship and seed collection for Pollinator Partnership and Project Wingspan, litter cleanup, invasive species removal, bluebird trail monitoring, butterfly and dragonfly monitoring, bobwhite quail surveys, and educating visitors through events like Eagle Days, Junior Duck Stamp, and family outdoor programs.
With more than 1 million visitors annually, Crab Orchard offers wildlife viewing, hunting, fishing, and recreation opportunities. Master Naturalists enhance the park’s programs and site support, improving the quality of life in Williamson County.
