Master Naturalist volunteers assist annually with the Du Quoin Soil and Water Conservation Fair. This is an educational event for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. In 2024, more than 2,000 southern Illinois students participated, engaging in various activities that promote environmental awareness and conservation practices. Educating young people about nature helps them become more involved in protecting the planet for future generations. This knowledge is essential for ensuring that both humanity and the natural world can flourish together.
