Native Plants

The Monarch Migration Festival in Galesburg, Illinois, is one of the most impactful community outreach events supported by local Master Naturalists. Now in its 12th year and free to all ages, the festival celebrates monarch butterflies and pollinator conservation through educational activities, native plant information, and family-friendly experiences.

The event addresses habitat loss and declining pollinator populations by increasing public awareness and encouraging conservation action. As a result, more residents have planted pollinator-friendly gardens, supported native habitats, and become engaged in local environmental stewardship efforts.
