East Central Illinois Master Naturalists collaborate with the Vermillion County Master Gardeners on the Danville Library Native Garden Project. This initiative shows that beautiful landscaping can be accomplished with native plants. Using native plants in landscaping has many benefits, including supporting wildlife, increasing soil health and structure, managing water flow, and even helping to mitigate climate change.

The site is a demonstration plot for the local Native Landscape Design courses, which aim to give people the tools and comfort to work with natives in their own home landscapes.
