As part of the effort to maintain our local state park, a tree identification workshop was held to educate community members about the diverse tree species and invasive plants growing there. Conducted with the assistance of the park site superintendent, the workshop introduced participants to the various native trees, their identifying characteristics, and their traditional uses by Native Americans. During a guided exploration of the woods, attendees and master naturalists also identified and helped remove invasive species. The event was both educational and engaging, allowing participants to gain new knowledge while appreciating the park's natural beauty.
