Four Seasons Gardening Program Offers Free Summer Series Webinars

Summer will soon be here, and the garden is calling! Get ready for summer with the University of Illinois Extension’s Four Seasons Gardening series starting in mid-June. The public is invited to participate in this free webinar series. The first session of the series titled “Top 9 Vegetable Garden Insects” will run on June 15th at 1:30 p.m.  In this session, University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator Kelly Allsup will help you learn nine of the most common and destructive insect pests in your vegetable garden and how to control them. Get tips on identification, scouting, prevention, and organic methods of eradication.  Whether you are new to gardening or a master, you will walk away with tips to make the gardening season a greater success.

Two additional topics in the summer series include “Themed Gardens: Design with Kids in Mind”, set for Tuesday, July 20th at 1:30 p.m., and “End of Summer Planted Fall Vegetables” set for Tuesday, August 17th at 1:30 p.m.

Webinars are available for viewing from wherever you have internet access by pre-registering. Recorded videos of these sessions can be viewed following the program at go.illinois.edu/fourseasonsrecordings. Please note that our local county offices are currently unable to offer viewing options at those locations at this time.

Each session is free to the public. Advance registration is needed. You may call the LaSalle County office for more details at 815-433-0707, or you may email Barb Krug at bkrug@illinois.edu.
