A Miniature Farm with Big Goals

It may have started with wanting to live a healthier lifestyle, but in less than two years, Big Miniature Farms in rural Mt. Carroll, Ill., has grown from a small home garden into a USDA Specialty Grower and Farm. Big Miniature Farms made their debut at the Mt. Carroll Farmers Market in 2019 with their signature Horseradish Jam. Now in 2020, during a global pandemic, Big Miniature Farms is expanding into Mt. Carroll’s historic downtown with a USDA Production Kitchen. Join us on October 7, 2020, at noon CST, as Cami and Travis Yenney discuss the steps and challenges encountered as they have grow from a backyard garden to a new Main Street storefront. “It hasn't been an easy journey, but the goal is within reach,” states Cami. Don’t miss this inspiring example of an Illinois Farmers Market's economic development in a small northwestern Illinois community.
