Pressure Canner Testing & Food Preservation Resources at Master Gardener Booth, Marshall-Putnam County Fair

Enjoy the freshness of produce all year long when you preserve your food safely! Ensure your home canning is safe. Have your pressure canner gauge tested annually to make sure it’s operating at the correct pressure. Inaccurate pressure can cause food not to be processed at a high enough temperature to kill harmful bacteria and toxins.

University of Illinois Extension will offer our free pressure canner gauge and seal testing at the Master Gardener Booth, Marshall-Putnam County Fair. Leave with confidence that you are preserving your garden bounty safely.  Illinois Extension recipes and resources will be available at the booth during fair time.
