Julie works to foster the next generation of Lake Michigan stewards – today’s K-12 students. She develops educational programs and resources that address local needs and increase literacy about Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant's priority research and outreach issues. And she supports educators in the implementation of IISG curricula through innovative professional development workshops and place-based education programs.
Julie brings over a decade of experience as a high school science teacher and curriculum writer. She earned an M.S. in biology education from University of Illinois and a B.S. in biology education from Illinois State University.
